The Adventures of Kit Carson

The winds of change are blowing over the Great Plains of Berlin’s Brunnenstraße. Until very recently, the area was controlled by the posse of Gallery owners, a bunch of desperados who, armed with sparkling wine and canapés, regularly made mischief by hosting vernissages and thereby blocking the sidewalk. But in early May, the magnificent three, Tanja Gließmann, Leona Tobisch and Nadine Lohof, settled here, on the corner of Anklamer Straße, to be precise. With their small saloon, “The Adventures of Kit Carson” they have pioneered in developing the fashion landscape towards the Wild Wedding. In their tiny, but all the more adorable fashion container, the designers sell selected vintage pieces and avant-garde couture from small, high-quality labels such as Victim Fashion Street from London or Alexandra Moura from Lisbon, as well as their own creations. The range also includes accessories and shoes, and altogether it sould probably be labeled high fashion rather than country chic. In keeping with the style of the fashion items sold, the store’s interior is designed in reduced, white varnish aesthetics, the choice pieces hanging on branches that are lowered from the ceiling.

Prices range from A Fistful of Dollars to A Few Dollars More. For now, the guerrilla store concept is scheduled to last until the end of August, and thus offers a nice shopping alternative for the summer with its airy indoor/outdoor concept featuring a cacti planted mini patio (ok, it’s a four-step staircase, but you can sit on it and cool off in the shade). And if any bad guys come along to pick the obligatory saloon fight, the sheriffs of the police force will be right there to intervene as they are guarding the nearby Jewish ranch twenty-four-seven.
