A worker of fine materials and an artist of sculptural proportions. French designer Yohan Serfaty creates clothing for the man, made and cut on the body. Born in Casablanca in 1966, Serfaty has worked his way through the fashion industry in garment development, all the while fine tuning his skills in menswear.

Known for artistic installations and an empirical use of leather, Serfaty has broken down his own ideals of outrageous attire, and worked within the confines of ‘societies’ use of clothing with Y Project. His menswear range aims to “dissect the values given to clothes in this society of perpetual movement”. A combination of high collared jackets and cropped hooded knitwear is accented with extended zip detail and hook and eye closures. Attention to detail is perfected in the fine embellishments. A use of architectural tailoring takes on structural understanding of the male body.

Y. Project is a new experimentation in mens clothing, for the man who doesn’t mind a bit of black.
